Sorry for anyone’s inconvenience.
It’s flattering when people choose to have my designs, but I much prefer designing and making bespoke cakes. Therefore, for cakes booked in November, I’m going to give 25% off for cakes that are not any of the designs on my website.
…. (and other allergy specific recipies)
Having a food allergy or intolerance must really suck. I’ve not really ever experienced anything of that sort, but I feel for those that do have to take extra special care over what they eat.
On that note, I’ve decided that it’s not alright to make having an allergy a burden on any of my customers, which means from now on, all of my allergy specific wedding cakes are now exactly the same price as my regular cakes.
I know great recipies for gluten free and lactose free cakes in almost every flavour that I do, I can also do egg-free wedding cakes, however as these are so soft, they can be a little lumpy (so just be aware).
Before I make a cake like this, I do a deep-clean of my kitchen to make sure there is no chance of contamination or flour in the air. I have a number of friends with quite severe allergies that I make cake for all the time, so you can rest assured that I know what I’m doing when it comes to taking the neccesary care.
Being in the wedding industry runs in our family – my sister is a wedding photographer. You should check out her (and her husband’s) work:
October’s special offer is slightly different to normal. It doesn’t matter or not if you book in October or not, but as long as you are a customer of mine, you can get a full wedding package from Whelan Photography for only £350!
As an extra thank you, if you book Claire and Shane to do your photographs, you can have an extra 10% off your cake (on top of any other offers) too!
Just a quick one for September:
For any cakes booked this month, you get a free height upgrade – from 3.5″ tiers to 4,5″ tiers.
UPDATE: The 4.5″ tall tiers were so well recieved that they are now my standard size – for no extra cost!
It must really suck to have an food allergy or intolerance. I feel especially bad for those who have coeliac disease and can’t experience the wonderful world of cake.
That said, there is a wonderful world of alternative options available. I’ve worked hard over the years to develop a number of gluten free wedding cake recipies that are just as tasty as my normal ones, and in August, I have a special offer just for those people who have food allergies:
If you book in August you can have either a free whole cake gluten-free upgrade, or if you don’t have an allergy, a gluten free mini cake decorated in the same style of your main cake for an extra-special guest.
If you have other allergy requirements, please get in touch, I can make lactose free and egg free wedding cakes.
UPDATE: Check out my newest post on gluten free wedding cakes. No extra fees for allergy cakes ever!
Can you believe we are half way through the year already? Normally July signifies the start of my busy period, but May and June were extra busy this year too, so I’m in full swing, though this heat isn’t helping *melts*.
Speaking of busy, what is normally my low season is filling up much quicker this year too, with some especially busy weeks.
These are marooned by a sea of empty ones though, so I thought I’d make a special offer to fill them up.
I’m going to do my 50% off offer again, so here are the rules:
If you book in July you get:
- 10off just for the sake of it
- 10% off if your wedding is between 1st September 2013 and 1st May 2014
- 10% off if you pay in full at the time of booking
- 10% off if you order one of my signature or spectacle cakes*
- 10% off if you find the other secret offer on my site that gives you 10% further discount
Have a great summer!
* The only exception to this is Paris, where you still get the discount, but don’t get to keep the fake tiers + pillars after your wedding.
I get contacted quite a lot by TV production companies making programs about weddings to see if any of my customers would be interested in appearing in their shows.
Usually I ignore the requests because they are for really cringy reality TV type things, but I got one today that sounds really fun and interesting (plus, it’s Jamie Oliver’s company, and I love Jamie), so I thought I’d share:
BRIDES-TO-BE AND THEIR BRIDESMAIDS WANTED FOR NEW TV SHOW
Are you getting married between August 2013 and February 2014?
Are you a super excited bride-to-be with several equally excitable bridesmaids putting the finishing touches to your wedding proceedings?
Are your bridesmaids frantically planning your hen night? Arranging practice make up sessions? Organising last minute spa sessions and outfit changes?
Would you like a free weekend of bonding in London for you and your bridesmaids before your big day?
Well we want to hear from you!
Fresh One Productions are making an exciting new show all about brides and their lovely bridesmaids – a show that looks at friendship, the girly dynamics that surround this very important time and all the fun (and occasionally frustration!) that surround the lead up to the big day!
We’re looking for a bride-to-be to take part and along with their 3 or 4 bridesmaids we’ll treat you to a fun bonding weekend in London.
If you are a bride-to-be and this sounds like fun to you then please get in touch, tell us a little bit about yourself and your beloved bridesmaids and we’ll get back to you:
Email – email@example.com
Please specify which city you live in, if you are getting married in August / Sept of this year and whether you are free 8-11th August for filming.
By contacting us you are not obliged to take part in any filming
You must be over 18 to apply
As a result of my May special offer, I passed the 500 likes milestone for my Facebook page. That’s something I’m really proud of, so thank you all for your support.
I also had lots of fun with the two customers that took me up on the offer, so I’m going to continue it through June.
For details of the offer, see the May post.
Happy May everyone!
I’m really quite proud of how I’ve been growing my Facebook and Twitter community. I really appreciate all my followers and the time they take to like and comment on my posts.
It makes me happy when customers of mine stay around to carry on interacting with FlissyCakes (In my line of work, there aren’t really any repeat customers), so I want to encourage that.
For any cakes booked in May, you will get 1% discount for every new Facebook liker or Twitter follower that you bring along with you (up to a maximum of 20%).
(Please note this only counts for new likers from the start of May onwards (and I can tell if anyone unlikes then likes again).
