I’m really quite proud of how I’ve been growing my Facebook and Twitter community. I really appreciate all my followers and the time they take to like and comment on my posts.

It makes me happy when customers of mine stay around to carry on interacting with FlissyCakes (In my line of work, there aren’t really any repeat customers), so I want to encourage that.

We are well into wedding cake booking season now, I think I’ve have about 20 in the last 2 weeks!

Lots of bookings for this summer, but I still have some space available for the next couple of months.

For February’s special offer, (subject to me not being booked up) any bookings for cakes before 31st May 2013 get 25% discount.

That means a 3-tier Gabrielle for £150, or a 5 tier Kitty for £190!

While there are not many people getting married, January to March is my busiest period for taking bookings, and I do the vast majority of these online.

In January Ryan will be at our stand in Celebration Village in Manchester every Saturday from 10:30am to 4:00pm, if you come to see him and mention this post, he has plans to offer lots of discount… 20% as a minimum, but feel free to try your luck bartering with him!

Did you know that this year, I made 25 Gabrielle cakes and 22 Antoinette ones?

While I’m flattered that you all like my designs, what I really love doing is making really special bespoke cakes for people. Matching the colours and themes exactly to make a really unique cake that has special meaning.

Now I know what you are thinking: “I can’t afford a bespoke cake!” but that’s not true. I only price my cakes based on how long they take me to make, so whether it is your design or mine, if it is similar in scope, it will be similar in price.

So for my December special offer, I’m going to give a massive discount to anyone who wants to work with me to make a new spectacle cake. How much discount? I’m not sure… It’s hard to price and even harder to discount really big extravagant cakes, so I’ll lay it out for you like this:

Go and look at my spectacle gallery. I will make you a cake of that level of size and detail for no more than £500.

(If you really love one of my spectacle cakes, as long as it is a different colour to the one or ones in my gallery, I’ll do that for £500 too).

Exclusions for this offer are: This offer doesn’t apply to cakes required in August 2013 and additional charges for fruit cake still apply.

In honour of the launch of my new display at Celebration Village (more details to follow soon) I’m ending my October special offer early, and skipping straight to November’s because it’s so awesome:

If you book in November, you will get:

-10% discount if your booking is for 2014
-10% discount if your booking is for November, December, January or February
-10& discount if your order is over £400
-10% discount if you pay in full at the time of booking

I don’t think there is anyone that would disagree, when it comes to wedding cakes, bigger is always better.

Bigger cakes look more in-proportion, are more elegant, and most especially, have a much bigger “wow!” factor.

For that reason, October’s special offer involves making cakes bigger and better!

For bookings in October, you will get an extra tier for free!

If you pay your balance in full at the time of booking, you will get TWO extra tiers for free!

That means if you booked a 5 tier Antoinette cake for £395, you would actually get a 30″ high, 7-tier mega-cake!

When I started off my cake business, everything was pretty easy. I’d buy all my ingredients from the supermarket, and all the specialist cake products (sugarpaste, flowerpaste etc) from the small cake shop around the corner.

Now my business has grown (over 100 cakes in 2012!) I have started to need to order things in bulk, I don’t have the time to run around all the different shops like I used to.

Of all of my suppliers, the most important is the one where I get all my icing, boards, drums and dowels from. I buy so much of this sort of stuff that there are a couple of things that are essential:
